What type of insurance do I need?
The category wanted is ‘public liability insurance’ (PLI) for stall holders, many insurance brokers offer this!
This type of insurance covers you in case of any legal issues (property damage, injury) that could arise from your stall. If you offer products that might need ‘product liability insurance’ you can buy at the same time. This type of insurance covers you for if any legal issues arise from the types of products you may be selling. Products requiring product cover depend on the broker. Oils, fragrances , things with electrical components and toys are common product types that require product insurance. There are more to this list so check the brokers list if unsure on your items.
How much should I be insured for?
As a stallholder, you will want to insure yourself for $5 or $10 million dollars.
This amount is the maximum the insurance company will be able to cover you for if something happens.
The minimum to insure yourself for to vend at Adelaide Anthros is $5 million. Most insurers will only provide $10 or $20 million dollars coverage plans.
Who can I go to for insurance?
Some common insurance brokers used by artists include:
How much will I need to pay?
You should not be paying more than $70, if it’s higher make sure to confirm you're purchasing the correct type, length and coverage amount.
Only buy 1-3 days of insurance depending on event length, some places won’t offer less than 3.If you are tabling at other cons throughout the year and they have asked for insurance as well, you can go longer options if it’s cheaper than buying short-term coverage for both events. It will only be required by events that request it!
Who can I contact for questions about insurance?
If you have any specific questions feel free to message @niftji on Telegram or Discord, or contact Adelaide Anthros at [email protected].
